Quality of life

A terrific place to live!

Just because Safford is a small town hardly means there isn't anything to do. In fact, the area is loaded with entertainment and recreational amenities!

Our education system is second to none, including public and private K-12 schools, all the way up to obtaining an associate degree from Eastern Arizona College or bachelor degree through EAC's extension program with Northern Arizona University.

Nearby scenic Mount Graham is the highest peak in the Pinaleño Mountains and one of the highest in Arizona. It's also home to the Mt. Graham International Observatory with 3 large telescopes including the Large Binocular Telescope - the world's highest resolution and most technologically advanced!

Other regional attractions include Coronado National Forest, Swift Trail, Discovery Park, Hot Wells Dunes, Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area, Black Hills Back Country Byway, and Roper Lake State Park.

Play a round of golf without having to wait days for a tee time, take a sunset horseback ride, or picnic beside a crystal-clear stream in the cool pines. The climate is outstanding, the scenery is awe-inspiring, and the business climate is healthy too.

Safford cost of living is about 85% of the national average
