Welcome to Safford!

A great place to live, work, and visit

About Safford

Business Friendly

As the retail center for all of Southeastern Arizona and portions of Western New Mexico, employment opportunities exist in a variety of sectors including health care, early childhood through post-secondary education, social services, retail, hospitality, mining, agriculture, and manufacturing. Arizona is a business-friendly state and Safford is a business-friendly city. With the largest population base in Graham County, including a one-stop shop owned by the City of Safford for all of your utility needs, amongst the lowest development fees in the state, a high-quality labor force and a regional population quickly approaching 50,000, Safford is an excellent place for your business. Transporting goods to and from your business is easy with a local airport and railway system, along with convenient connectability by highways and nearby interstates.

Small Town, Big Opportunities

There's a lot to be said for the high quality of life of small town USA, but there's also a lot to be said for the high quality of conducting business in a small town, especially when that small town offers many of the advantages of larger cities. Great retail amenities, entertainment, education, recreation, medical facilities, and weather all combine to make Safford a terrific place to live. Just as important, Arizona is a business-friendly state and Safford is a business-friendly city. If you're tired of the stress of the daily commute, the miles and miles of red tile roofs, the anonymity of urban living, discover Safford, where the pace is a little bit slower, the pleasures and necessities of life only minutes away, and the faces a whole lot friendlier. All of that, combined with a high-quality labor force and a regional population fast approaching 50,000 makes Safford an excellent place for your business.

Quality of Life

Just because Safford is a small town hardly means there isn't anything to do, in fact the area is loaded with entertainment and recreational amenities. Our education system is second to none, including public and private K-12 schools, all the way up to obtaining an associate degree from Eastern Arizona College, or bachelor degrees through EAC's extension programs from ASU and NAU. In addition, medical facilities, and weather all combine to make Safford a terrific place to live. Nearby scenic Mount Graham (in the Pinaleno Mountains) is the highest peak in the range and one of the highest in Arizona, which is also home to the Mt. Graham International Observatory, which houses 3 large telescopes including the Large Binocular Telescope, which is the world's highest resolution and most technologically advanced telescope. Other regional attractions include Coronado National Forest, Swift Trail, Discovery Park, Hot Wells Dunes, Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area, Black Hills Back Country Byway, Natural Hot Springs and Roper Lake State Park. Play a round of golf without having to wait days for a tee time, take a sunset horseback ride, or picnic beside a crystal-clear stream in the cool pines. The climate is outstanding, the scenery is awe-inspiring, and the business climate is healthy too.
